My Journey Towards English Education

Growing up, if someone had asked me what my favorite subject was, English would have been at the bottom of the list. English was always my strong suit, but I never considered English my favorite subject until I started reading Shakespeare. I read Romeo and Juliet in my 9th grade English class and it left me inspired to become an avid Shakespearean. In the past four years, I have read 15 out of Shakespeare's 37 plays (and plenty of sonnets) and I plan to read them all!

I attended Rockford High School, where I was lucky enough to be surrounded by four positive English teachers, plus a dozen more incredible teachers and faculty who helped me succeed. After high school, I attended Western Michigan University for my freshman year before transferring to Michigan State University to finish my education.

My journey to becoming an English educator has been full of ups and downs, especially when transferring schools. However, I would not change a thing. English is truly my passion- whether I am reading, writing, editing, or teaching.

Ps. Ask me about playing Luciana in The Comedy of Errors
